Are you interested in serving on the Alaska REALTORS® and/or the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Board of Directors? Submit your letter of interested by August 1, 2022.

Anchorage Board of REALTORS® members may apply for the position of Alaska REALTORS® State President or the Medium Board Representative. 

The Alaska REALTORS® has four (4) NAR Director positions:

• Alaska REALTORS® State President (State Allocated position)
• PeggyAnn McConniche, Distinguished Services Awardee (automatic and will not be on ballot)
• Small Board (499 members or less) Representative (appointed by the state association)
• Medium Board (500-1,999 members) Representative (appointed by the state association)

The National Association of REALTORS® has made changes, which impact the NAR Director positions for the Alaska REALTORS® association.

Appointment & Election Timeline:

• Through August 1, 2022: Applicants can “self-certify” their interest in serving as an NAR Director through the NAR application link https://gms.realtor.org/dirntitl.nsf/AddDirApp?OpenForm
  
  
• By August 15, 2022: Alaska REALTORS® Credentials Committee will review applications and confirm the candidates.
  
  
• August 17, 2022 the Alaska REALTORS® Board of Directors will APPOINT the 2023 Directors by majority vote. The Alaska REALTORS® Board of Directors will draw to see if the Board representatives will serve 1 or 2 terms. In order to get to the 3-year term cycle this is the best path forward.
  • Director A: 1-term (2023) 
  • Director B: 2-year term (2023-2024)
    
    
• September 15, 2022 the Alaska REALTORS® will submit the NAR Directors appointed at the August 17, 2022 Board meeting.
• September 23, 2022 at the General Membership meeting, ALL the candidates who submitted their application will be on the ballot to be voted on by the membership. The terms will begin in either 2024 or 2025 based on the August 17^th appointment. At this time, the Small Board and Medium Board will be on a 3-year staggered terms. After 2023, both Small and Medium Board representatives will serve 3-year staggered terms
