Deadline to Renew your Alaska Real Estate License

The Alaska Real Estate Commission (AKREC) is the state entity who renews your real estate license. 

Do not wait until the last minute to renew your license! All real estate licenses that have not been renewed by January 31st will lapse on February 1st. You cannot practice real estate with a lapse license.

Licensing Reminders from the Alaska Real Estate Commission; Access Your License Online

The Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development has transitioned to a paperless system. You can now access and print your license directly through your MY LICENSE account at: professionallicense.alaska.gov/mylicense

Using your MY LICENSE account, you can:

  • Renew your professional license
  • Update your contact information
  • Receive important updates and notices electronically

Not registered yet? Here's how:

  1. Go to the MY LICENSE homepage.
  2. Log in with your myAlaska account or create one.
  3. Once logged in, select “Add an Existing License” using your license number and web authorization code.
  4. Need a code? Email license@alaska.gov to request your web authorization code.

Each licensee is required to complete at least 20 hours of continuing education (CE) during each biennial licensing period. This includes 8 designated hours (DCE) and 12 elective hours (ECE). The approved topics for the 
licensing period of February 1, 2024 to January 31, 2026 are:
